Jesus is Saying ….

Me in scriptureJohn the Baptist filled with the Holy Spirit testified about the Lord Jesus Christ. John 1:15 …This is the one I spoke about when I said, He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me. 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

This testimony brought the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem – priests and Levites to ask him who he was. He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah” Who then are you? They asked him! What do you say about yourself?

John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, Make straight the way for the Lord. John 1:23

What then do you say about yourself friends? Are you echoing the words of the cynics, haters, gossips, and the lies of the wicked one? Or are you confessing what the Lord said in the scriptures about you. The Words of God take pre-eminence over and above any words spoken by any being so search the bible to find out what God says about you.

Jesus Christ says  I am the salt of the earth, a light of the world, a city set upon a hill that cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:13-16. Verse 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Do you see yourself as salt – making food tasty, light to drive out darkness, a force of love, joy, and grace that cannot be explained away, and a fragrance of beauty to delight God’s heritage. 2 Corinthians 2:15 for we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are perishing.

  1. My fellowship reads a chapter a day and we started the new year in the book of John and these verses in John 1 are what jumped out at me! Thanks for the deeper revelation and truth. I’m meditating on it.
