You have the mind of Christ friends! You have a wise mind! You have been endowed with the wisdom of God by the power of the Holy Spirit that dwells in you! Yes you! Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bond servant and coming in the likeness of men…..He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. You need to begin to operate in the mind of Christ henceforth.
You have the mind of Christ that is in sync with heaven, the mind that is one with the Father, the mind that loves unconditionally. The mind of Christ is gentle, peaceful, humble, loving, kind, thankful, generous, compassionate, selfless, it believes nothing is impossible with God, it knows the heart of the Father and works always to gladdens it. It pleases the Father always.
You also have the mind that believes all things in the Lord and His Word, a courageous mind, a heart of flesh, the mind that trust, is loyal, faithful, steadfast, consistent in doing good, forgiving, pure and holy. You have the mind of Christ Jesus! When you begin to operate in it, you will find out that all things are indeed possible with Jesus in the center.
1 Corinthians 2: 6 we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man.The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Operate in it friends! Walk by faith and not by sight! Jesus is Lord!
David inquired of the Lord every time and always got an answer, he obeyed instructions from the Lord and got victory over the challenges facing him every time. Note also that sometimes the response to our request might not sound logical to us, still obey for He who promised or gave the word is faithful. How possible is it to “hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees” Marching on a tree? It doesn’t make sense but David listened for the sound because the Lord told him to. How many times the Lord had given us instruction and we assume it was our thought for it was not logical, it doesn’t make sense, God can not give such a “dumb” instruction we explain away our disobedience.
2 Samuel 5:17 Now when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to search for David. And David heard of it and went down to the stronghold. 18 The Philistines also went and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. 19 So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?”And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
20 So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim. 21 And they left their images there, and David and his men carried them away.
22 Then the Philistines went up…

“Hello young one! It has been quite a while. How has life been treating you and yours? Said My Lady” Oh! Well, we have been living life as best we could, I smiled back at her, settling down to the softness of the couch, propping my self up with the luscious cushion. I have been very well myself, enjoying God’s goodness, grandbabies, bowling, writing and simply basking in my new found love, said My Lady. What is new? I asked!
“Well, I have been reflecting on my journey so far, hmm! I have been reflecting for quite some time now, wondering about the why, what and hows’ of life. You see young one, when you are my age, you’ll look back and find out that sometimes, somethings never would make sense until you look backwards in retrospect”.
Looking back brought me to the conclusion that there were forces beyond my understanding playing parts in what I termed living life, that’s just what it is! The experiences I have had makes me to wonder why I kept making mistakes, or were they not? Could it be the hand of the divine like in the case of Samson in Judges 14:1-6 and Joseph in response to his brothers regret in Exodus 45:8? God was working in me even then to will and to act in order for His good pleasure to be fulfilled in my life.
Many choices and turns, at every step of my walk, at each milestone, though I almost always have an inner voice of caution, divine prompting maybe, of goodwill, danger and much more. I have made lots of choices – very good ones, not so good ones I thought and some “great” ones that should have wiped me off track I suppose, but something, someone, a force, keeps writing me in. I wondered! Why!!! What for?
My lady, I exclaimed snapping my fingers, looking into her eyes, wondering what thought or scene just crossed her mind, where did she just visit now, with the most amazing expression on her face. She blinked and smiled, flashing one of the most beautiful denture I’ve ever seen. I could see on her face that she has been to a very happy place.
Hmmm! It was one of those beautiful season of life, said My Lady. Carefree days of love, music, dancing, romance and all those things that makes living beautiful. Hmm! She said smiling. A warm feeling swept through my spine and I seem to burrow deep into the softness of my seat. So, Mam, you were saying ……..eye brow raise with a nod of understanding, undercurrent between us… you were saying “beautiful living”, I said to her prompting. To continue….

The unexamined life , here I believe refers to a life that has not been tested by adversary. I mean the kind of trials and tribulations that come to man like a tsunami. Trials that turns your life upside down, touching every area of your life and yet you are still faithful and loyal, joyful and rejoicing in hope, holding on and trusting God all the way! Every male will proclaim their manhood, but only when wrestling, fighting comes do we know who a man is – African proverb. The weakling will run when confronted with war, but the brave will stand the test.
When your imagination run wild and you become fearful of discomfort and you are incapacitated, what will happen when you actually confront the unspeakable betrayal of trust, loss of almost everything dear to your heart (Thank God for LIFE). When your core is shaken out of joint, what will you do? How will you react? Jeremiah 12: 15 “If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, Then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan?
It sure is easier to speak from the place of comfort, that’s right! Than a battlefield, in the midst of devastation, pain and uncertainty.
“”Faith, by its very nature, must be tried, and the real trial of faith is not that we find it difficult to trust God, but that Gods’s character has to be cleared in our own minds.”.“Trials of faith are difficult to bear: for they cause heaviness or depression of the mind.” Faith in it actual working out has to go through spells of isolation.Never confuse the trial of faith with the ordinary discipline of life. Much that we call the trial of faith is the inevitable result of being alive. Faith in the Bible is faith in God against everything that contradicts Him – “I will remain true to God’s character whatever He may do”. “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” – this is the most sublime utterance of faith”” From the Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye Volume 16, 2016.
Dearest ones going through any form of trials, please note this passage, read and meditate on it. Hebrew 10: MSG 32-39 Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn’t touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don’t throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It’s still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God’s plan so you’ll be there for the promised completion. It won’t be long now, he’s on the way; he’ll show up most any minute. But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust; if he cuts and runs, I won’t be very happy. But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.
May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding flood your hearts and mind. I pray that the Lord will strengthen you in your inner man, by His Holy Spirit, that Christ might dwell richly within you so you might know the hope for which you have been called in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
