1 Corinthians 11:17 Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse. 18 For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19 For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you.
Apostle Paul led by the Holy Spirit deduced that, it is only in discord, that the true character of an individual can be known. Also without adversity, you cannot really measure a man’s strength, fortitude and faith. Without Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego going through the fiery furnace, their resolute to not compromise would not have been known and Christ Jesus would not have been revealed.
Daniel 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. ……. 22 Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?”They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.”25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”26 Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spake, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire.
There are so many accounts in the scriptures of trials of faith friends. Please note that it is only those who stand till the end that will receive the crown of glory. The evil one has infiltrated even the Church to steal, kill and destroy. Your families and friends are not exempted. Yet stand your ground knowing fully well that the Lord Jesus Himself will never leave nor forsake you. Be watchful, praying without season. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Christ will always disappoint the devices of the crafty concerning you and I. The Lord will not permit their hands to carry out their enterprise.
Father thank you for your loving kindness! Thank you for always having our backs, shielding us from the fiery darts of the wicked one. Thank you for increasing the volume of our voice when the wicked one would have loved us to be silenced forever. We praise your Holy Name Oh Lord our righteousness. Sweet Holy Spirit, we ask that you would guide us into all truth, help us to do the will of Our Heavenly Father no matter what. Embolden us more and more dear Lord, teach our hands to war, manifest your power within us to destroy every works of Satan in Jesus Christ mighty name we pray and receive with thanksgiving. Amen.
