Thankful Heart! Henry Ward Beecher

thankful-heart

Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It’s jolted by every pebble on the road.
We should not judge people by their peak of excellence; but by the distance they have traveled from the point where they started.
A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life.
Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.
Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody expects of you. Never excuse yourself.
The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.
We never know the love of a parent till we become parents ourselves.
Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made and forgot to put a soul into.
Never forget what a person says to you when they are angry.

Counting Our Blessings

thankfulnessGreat are you Lord, great are you Lord, great are you Lord, great are you Lord! Be magnified Oh Lord, you who have done great things, we praise your Holy name. You are good and your mercies endures forever. Thank you for imputing righteousness unto us. Thank you for not judging us according to our ways. Thank you for saving us, your beloved Children, the seed of your friend Abraham. We praise you Oh Lord, Our God.

Friends, only when we take stock do we see and realize that we are blessed more than we acknowledge. The Lord has been good to us all. He restrained the hand of the wicked, He shielded, healed, protected, provided, corrected, sustained, withheld that which will harm us and rebuked wicked lips, storms, wind and all sort that would have swallowed us up.

Whatever state of mind you’re in right now friends, remember one thing, you are here right now alive, give God some praise and see the transformation that comes of it. It could have been worst but for the Lord’s quick intervention. Praise God for His faithfulness!!

Psalms 75:1 We praise you, God,
    we praise you, for your Name is near;
    people tell of your wonderful deeds.

You say, “I choose the appointed time;
    it is I who judge with equity.
When the earth and all its people quake,
    it is I who hold its pillars firm.
To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’
    and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.
Do not lift your horns against heaven;
    do not speak so defiantly.’”

No one from the east or the west
    or from the desert can exalt themselves.
It is God who judges:
    He brings one down, he exalts another.
In the hand of the Lord is a cup
    full of foaming wine mixed with spices;
he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth
    drink it down to its very dregs.

As for me, I will declare this forever;
    I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,
10 who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked,
    but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”
