1 Samuel 31:4 Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run me through,or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.” But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it. 5 When the armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his sword and died with him. 6 So Saul and his three sons and his armor-bearer and all his men died together that same day.
Hope against hope! When everything seems to be against you, keep hope alive. Be hopeful and fear the Lord. This armor bearer must have thought a miracle can still happen. My Lord the King may still live after all, so he refused to run Saul through and instead ran himself through afterwards.
Then comes a sycophant on the scene, ill intention-ed, cold and lacking human feelings and respect for the dead, bent on currying favor from David. He misunderstood David! He thought David was like most men, he was ignorant of the divine mandate and heart God placed in this multifaceted instrument in God’s hand.
2 Samuel 1:15 Then David called one of his men and said, “Go, strike him down!” So he struck him down, and he died. 16 For David had said to him, “Your blood be on your own head. Your own mouth testified against you when you said, ‘I killed the Lord’s anointed.’”
This Amalekite had condemned himself to death by the words of his own mouth. How often, in pursuit of the transient have we lost the divine and immortal? To gain supposed honor and prestige, he claimed to be what he is not.
2 Samuel 1:6 “I happened to be on Mount Gilboa,” the young man said, “and there was Saul, leaning on his spear, with the chariots and their drivers in hot pursuit. 7 When he turned around and saw me, he called out to me, and I said, ‘What can I do?’ 8 “He asked me, ‘Who are you?’ “‘An Amalekite,’ I answered. 9 “Then he said to me, ‘Stand here by me and kill me! I’ m in the throes of death, but I’m still alive.’ 10 “So I stood beside him and killed him, because I knew that after he had fallen he could not survive. And I took the crown that was on his head and the band on his arm and have brought them here to my lord.”
Matthew 12:36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
It was swift for this young man, but not so for many. Sometimes the word of twenty years ago may still be haunting now. Every such words Lord let your blood stand against it. May every words spoken contrary to our God given destiny be destroy by the blood of Jesus today in Jesus name. Every words of accusation, condemnation, and persecution spoken by us and others against your will for us Lord let it be cancelled and destroyed today in Jesus mighty name. Amen
“Iyan ogun odun a ma jo ni lowo” Simply means Proverbs 12:14, 18:20 Mercy Lord!!!!!
Ephesians 5:4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
Shalom! Shalom! Shalom!
