Every child start life on milk from the mothers breast and then graduate to formulas. Gradually the child is weaned from milk, both mothers milk and formulas and started on light solids, peas, fruits, fish, until gradually the child is grown enough to eat every kind of food.
So is with us as Christians, we start up after salvation with forsaking our old ways of living. We embrace righteousness through Christ and drop of unholy living, lying, being troublesome, sexual immorality, murder, and all kinds of evil. We are weaned off such way of living at our conversion. We however must not remain there. We need to grow, feeding our spirit man with the word of God as the Holy Spirit help us.
To get us to be transformed Christ gave gifts unto some from amongst us to help feed us with depth of insight revealed from The Word so we can mature in our knowledge of God and what Christ Jesus attained for us
Ephesians 4:11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.
We however, must be careful of what we are being fed. As a child, when an infant or toddlers are fed something they do not like, the child will vomit such, spit it out, reject it, even though they cannot speak, signalling to the adult that I don’t want this. So also as born again and spirit filled individuals, we must be able to spit out teachings that are contrary to Christ. Most do not know falsehood from the pulpit because they have not been reading their Bible. Many are fed false narratives not in the Scriptures.
To build your spirit man up, you must take time to read your Bible with the help of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that gives understanding of what you are reading. You must learn to discern truth from falsehood or else you will be tossed here and there.
While men slept, friends, the enemy has sown weeds amongst the good seed of God. The gifts Christ gave to many have been polluted by greed, disobedience, pride, and the love of mammon. We must pray for sight to see.
This is a love letter to you and I from Apostle Paul. It is also a reminder of how we were, where we were, where we left, where we are now, and how you and I should conduct and comport our self. Here it is.
It will do you a lot of good to commit these words into your heart. I pray that the Holy Spirit will help you and I to imbibe what brother Paul is saying here.
Dear brothers and Sisters In the Lord,
17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.
20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned
21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.
22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Amos 8:11“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land–not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.8:12Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.
Friends, does it not seem like that time is now?
The Word of God is not really scarce, just that it’s been watered down, and twisted to soothe our every whim.
How often have you and I heard a sermon about having a pure heart, living right before God and man, being kind, helping the poor, looking out for other brethren, being truthful, standing for fairness, justice, and so on?
When was the last time I heard or speak anything about heaven and hell? Hmmm 🤔🤔🤔!
The Word of God is not only about what we can get from God in this life like prosperity – material possessions, wealth creation and gathering, getting married and staying married, being fruitful in our bodies, etcetera, but how we are supposed to live, to be a light that shines in darkness and darkness cannot comprehend it!
Now is the time to desire the sincere milk of the Word of God 1 Peter 2:2 so we can grow past give me this and that, to God make me a vessel of honour in your hands, use me to quench someones thirst, and change the trajectory of situations in my community, let me be your hands and feet to seek the lost and downtrodden, use me for your glory Lord, make me your battle axe with which to dismantle and crush every structure you have not built in the heart of your kingdom, make me a beckon of hope for the hopeless, a voice for the voiceless.
Use me Lord, use us for your glory we ask in Jesus mighty name. Amen
We have to step away from the transactional gospel a little to see beyond our horizon and ask, if am called home today, where exactly is home? I know no one likes talking of going home but the fact remains that we all will one day. That is One day we do not know about! Should we not prepare in advance and trust that Christ will welcome us as He promised?
Heaven or hell? Where will it be friends?
You have the opportunity to make amends today. Ask the Lord to help you. I am also asking for me and mine! We all need help and grace to stay true to the confession of our faith and walk therein in spirit and in truth, glorifying God.
Father we ask for grace to live right before you with eternity as our focus. Take our eyes off the transient and laser focus us on the immortal we ask in Jesus mighty name. Amen
But because of God’s great love for me, God, who is rich in mercy,
made Me alive with Christ even when I was dead in transgressions –it is by grace I have been saved. Ephesians 2:4-5 Personified
You must learn to see yourself in the Scriptures, it will build up your faith.
I am being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.
Ephesians 2:22. You also can declare thus and believe. It is so! Hallelujah!
Therefore, heaven and earth has come together to build YOU up as Gods temple which will never be defiled by sin, sickness, or infirmity
For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
Ephesians 2:18. You and I have access to God! Take advantage of this!
He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. Ephesians. 2:17. Jesus want you and I to have peace. Trust Him!
This is culled from a 2016 post. I Am A Confident Woman! Are You! Edited for the purpose of this moment of Truth That Set Free!
You should know dearest Sisters that you are a vessel of honor in your Saviors hands! You have been blessed with a wide shoulder to lean on, a helping hand to hold another, lift up and wipe off others tears.
You have a sensitive and listening ear, a tender heart to love yet strong enough to stand against wickedness. You have a bridled tongue, lips seasoned with salt, a mouth filled with words that sustains the weary.
You speak truth always, you are not a gossip or rumor monger. You say things the way it is, you are not a hypocrite, far be that from you! You own up for your mistakes, and you are not afraid to say you are sorry for any wrong done!!! You are enough! You are a gem! A treasure!
Dear Sisters, you are not perfect though! Do you know your weaknesses? Examine yourselves and then take up Christ strength as a shield, draw from the wellsprings of grace constantly, I mean live in it, joined in, embedded, enclosed, get my point? Immerse yourself in Christ strength on a daily basis.
Even though you might have a tiny winy faith, these are the kind that can move mountains, for you are the seed of Abraham. I know you love our Father, for He first loved us and counted us worthy by grace alone, not by any works on our part, solely His love. A love that cannot be explained, unconditional, unchanging and always constant!
Thank the Lord Jesus Sis! You are blessed and highly favored!
One of the scriptures that gives me immeasurable joy and confidence is Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed ME in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose Me in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Personified
Meditate on these scriptural verses and see your confidence in Christ skyrocket. You will just know that you know you are more than the other voices are saying about you! This confirms that you are loved so much that plans were in place for your good before you ever came into the picture!
Ephesians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to son-ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
In Christ Jesus I was also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, Ephesians 1:11
Friends, this new month, if you do not remind yourself of what God has spoken about you in the scriptures, the devil will tell you what God has not said about you!
Remember, God’s intention towards you is of good, to prosper you, not of evil, God’s intention is to give you hope and a glorious future, to see you to your expected end of goodness and mercy always. Jeremiah 29:11
You have got to believe this and walk in that confidence! Jesus loves you and want to have a relationship with you. He also has great plans for you.
Walk into the light as He beckons you come. Matthew 11:28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. For all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory – Romans 3:23
