The power of the tongue

When Christ love is in your heart, it will show in your words and deed. Receive grace to speak words that sustains the weary.

Proverbs 18:20 From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. 21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
 and those who love it will eat its fruit.

James 3:5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Speak God’s words and it shall be established. Speak words of affirmation and no condemnation. Evil words are viruses. Speak words seasoned with salt. Let the words of your mouth sustain the weary.

Psalms 19:14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
