The Word! The Heart!

Romans 12:6-8 If you preach, just preach God’s Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don’t take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don’t get bossy; if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate; if you’re called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don’t let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.

9-10 Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.

11-13 Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.

14-16 Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they’re happy; share tears when they’re down. Get along with each other; don’t be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don’t be the great somebody.

17-19 Don’t hit back; discover beauty in everyone. If you’ve got it in you, get along with everybody. Don’t insist on getting even; that’s not for you to do. “I’ll do the judging,” says God. “I’ll take care of it.”

Let these words find a resting place in our hearts Lord!

Just Own Up!

As a parent or guardian of young people, you must learn to own up for your mistakes so your wards can learn from you that owning up for wrongs done is not a sign of weakness, but of tremendous courage, strength, humility and truthfulness!

Accepting our fault does not come easy from time immemorial! Adam had to blame Eve for eating the forbidden fruit in Genesis 3 instead of owning up for his own short coming.

We see this play out in all sort of relationship! Pride has blinded many to the point of not seeing the log in our own eyes and seeing those of others with magnifying glasses! Examine yourself!

Naturally, we have inflated ego, and accepting we have done something wrong is like been stripped and whipped! We will dance around this and point fingers and all sort of acrobatics!

Just own up!

This inability to simply say “I am sorry”, have broken many homes, severe families, and caused unnecessary heart aches! It’s a sore thumb we most often are willing to play ping pong with, ofcourse with a touch of super strength Tylenol every now and then!

To be continued!

Shalom! Shalom! Shalom!

Bondage? Be Renewed!

The transforming power of the Holy Spirit renews and transform our minds to become who God created us to be. We are then changing from glory to glory towards perfection at the coming of our Lord and Savior. Transformation is a command from the Lord as in Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. It is also the byproduct of the Holy Spirit living within us. It is an expectation, it is powera given for every genuine believer as stated in 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Friends, this is what is expected of you and I! We must change by the renewing of our minds and it must reflect in our words, action and conduct. Stop feeding then the ego of those around you, those in covenant league with the devil that wants you to remain who you used to be. Do not keep yourself in bondage, you have been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God’s own Son Jesus Christ, the Kingdom of Light.

You see friends, there are those in physical prison, behind bars, barricaded and limited in freedom. There are also those walking freely, with free will but imprisoned without knowing. This is by far the most dangerous category. When one is in the world, one is in bondage to sin and lost. Why then would one be redeemed, transformed by the Holy Spirit and still be who you were! Those that knew us then and now, should be able to see a difference in us. Not from our preaching and pious disposition and the likes, but by our way of life on and off stage!

Are we living the gospel of peace and love, or are we masking all the ills of our previous ways, envy, gossips, jealousy, lies, hatred, wickedness and so on.

Will we rather feed our ego than do God’s bidding to humble ourselves and count others better than ourselves. This is to help us to treat each other nicely, with respect and honor regardless of where that human is coming from, where they are, what they have or not have, and where they are headed. Don’t forget that no one is beyond redemption!

Let us not keep one another in bondage, by manipulation, gossips, sowing seeds of discord in peoples mind against one another, causing dissension in our family, and the body of Christ – doing the work of the enemy of Christ.

Should we not be about our Father’s business, spreading the word of truth and peace! We are the first bible most will read! Are we projecting Christ,  or not?

Lord Jesus,  I pray that whatever residue of wickedness in our ways be uprooted today.

Lord, open our eyes to see ourselves the way you see us, a glimpse is enough so we can have perspective.

Let your grace upon us not be in vain Lord in Jesus name.

Let our hearts be renewed Lord, help us in our daily walk with you by your Holy Spirit that lives in us.

Deliver us from every form of bondage, in our minds, hearts, and even the wrong sight we have of ourself.

Give sight to our eyes Lord and may your love be in our hearts in Jesus Christ mighty name we pray. Amen
