True Ambassadors! Integrity!

Acts 1:8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

According to Luke, this is Jesus’s last word to his disciple, and to you and I. Jesus is saying even now that when the Holy Spirit comes upon us that we will be witnesses in our locale and to the ends of the earth.

integrityIs this true of us believers today? Are we truly Christ Jesus ambassadors? Are we truly representing Jesus to the unsaved, lost, weary, discouraged, downtrodden? Is your answer in the affirmative? I guess not! You and I know that the Word of God is powerful and able to transform lives. We know how to wedge the word to dislodge everything contrary to Christ Jesus, however, it seem the world is not changing, our society, community, families and lives are still what it used to be. We have not changed! We lack integrity!

Integrity! It means saying something, meaning it, and doing it. Integrity refers to your actions matching your words. Many times we say one thing and act another thing. This makes us not to be taken seriously. We are prone to speak from two sides of our mouth, I mean we say something and actually mean another. We have become two-faced! This need to change for us to impact our world effectively and efficiently for the Lord.

integrity when no one sees

As a parent, you ought to know by now, and as a friend, colleague, part of a group, you must know by now that when someone lack integrity, those in contact with you take your words with a pinch of salt, for it is just mere words. You do not inspire the best in others around you if your words mean nothing to them.

The Word itself carries depth of meaning and powerful by itself, however coming from you, hmmm, may connote a different meaning because your actions do not often match your words. All this is seen and heard clearly!

As a child, my dad very often will come with the driver, a chauffeur to pick us up after school. Dad will always have one stop or another to make along the way home. We lived about 40kms from our school, in the outskirt of our city. Dad will always want to see one or other of his relations, friends and acquaintances on the way. Dad will say, ” children, I will be back in a minute or two, and be gone for half hour. We were an okay family, so most times there is always refreshment in the vehicle with us. There was always a cooler with Maltina and a bag with Nasco biscuit to snack on, but we want to go home and play or something. You know children! We were typical children, restless when in one place.

postsAfter a while, we stopped believing dad’s 1 to 5 means just that. We were actually surprised one day when dad took just about 5 minutes or less. We clapped when he joined us in the vehicle.

Most of you must have been in that situation. You can relate to this scenario right? My children these days ask, “are we just going home after church or do you want to stop by the groceries or something mummy?” Can we just go home please?! “You can do that on your way from work tomorrow mummy!” Guess I took after my dad eh. 🙂

actionsWhere am I going with this? As a bible believer who desires to be a true ambassador of Christ, we must endeavor to match our words with our actions! If we say ABC, then we must act ABC! We must not say ABC, and act DEFG.

We must start living the word, not just saying it, preaching it, shouting it at the top of our lungs. We must be living it day in day out. The Word is powerful by itself! It can really change lives, transform minds and heart! Why don’t we allow it to transform us, renew our minds, so we can truly say something, mean it, and back it up with our actions.

There are too many professing Christ, but very few Christ redeemed, ambassadors of faith. We can all turn a new leaf today. Jesus Christ is able to transform you and I!

Shalom! Shalom! Shalom!
