Rotten Apples! Miracle In Disguise!

Like 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

I saw this picture of a container with rotten apple spilling over with the above caption – scripture, about 72 or so hours ago and I have not been able to take my mind off it.  Picture speak a thousand words I heard. What is the use of harvesting a rotten apple? A sour one!.

rotten apple

Well I don’t know much about farming, however I would assume that the farmer will find a use for even the most rotten ones. It could be used to feed other farm animal or as fertilizer I suppose.

In the Kingdom of God, what does a basket of rotten apples look like? What are the characteristics and criteria for categorizing rotten apples? I would say that rotten apple means different things to different people. Rotten apples could refer to those afflicted, infirmed, poor, bound, outcast, disadvantaged, and you know what? Depending on where you are seated, your perspective, don’t we all fall into one or more of this category before Christ found us and even now?

I noticed though that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ reached out to all but especially to the rotten apples of His days. All the miracles Christ performed were mostly amongst those that society termed rotten apples. The blind, the lame, the deaf, the leprose, the dead raised, the sick, the poor fed, the demon possessed man of Gadara, prostitute, adulterer, tax collector, and after His death on the Cross of Calvary and resurrection, Christ reached out to a murderer named Saul, now called Paul. Read Matthew 20:29-34, Mark 7:31-37, Luke 17:11-19, Mark 5:21-43, Matthew 9:32-33, Luke 8:26-39, Luke 9:37-43, and many more.

Okay! Where am I going with this? Well, those rotten apples, those people hungry for a touch from God that comes across our paths, how many of such have we pushed back, out and outrightly rejected?. This endtime Church has deviated far from the works of Christ! We have allowed the world to influence the Kingdom of God. We have set up a modern day well equipped hospital, but we do not want the sick in there! How can that be?

Jesus said in Luke 5:31 Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. 30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”31 Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

We want those in perfect health to come to the hospital? It is the sick that will come, receive their healing, be made whole, become and also bring in others to receive healing and be! Peter was like most of us, in Acts 10, when the Lord showed him those unclean animals. Of Course he refused to eat – Acts 10:14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”15 The voice spoke to him a second time, Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

harvestThat recovering alcoholic, that poor and infirmed family, the lame and blind in our congregations, yes, those people we pass by without seeing, they may be the ones Christ wants to manifest His power through for all to see. The Gospel attest to it! Christ ways is absolutely not our ways! We must look to Him to find The Way! The Only Way!

Just imagine a lame person, a barren woman, blind and deaf, receiving their miracles in your ministry. The old people being on fire for the Lord! Raging storm ordered to be calm! Imagine that alcoholic set free from bondage in your fellowship! The broken vows restored in your home, the barren conceiving and bringing to birth, love in the hearts of married couples rekindled! Singles united in holy matrimony, broken walls rebuilt. Dead situation receiving life! Can you just imagine the spiral effect of that, miracles!!!!!!!!  Yes, God backs up His words with miracles, signs and wonder! Miracle still happens today, we just need to open our hearts and see Christ at work! The demon possessed renouncing the devil and been set free, the bound set free, the sick healed, long standing issues been resolved, oh what better way for our community to know that there is a God in Israel.  AlwaysLookAgain

Father, we honor and worship you. Thank you for loving us. Forgive us Oh Lord in every way we have displeased you. Have mercy and help us to please you in all our ways. Direct and teach us Father, give us discernment, enlighten the eyes of our hearts Daddy that we might see wondrous things in your word. Enlarge our hearts so we may care for each other. Please show us a reflection of our ways, just a glimpse so we may amend our ways. Look upon us through the blood of your dear Son Jesus Christ. Help us Lord we pray in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen!

Shalom! Shalom!

I Am Will Do It!

1 Kings 20:23 Then the servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their gods are gods of the hills. Therefore they were stronger than we; but if we fight against them in the plain, surely we will be stronger than they. 24 So do this thing: Dismiss the kings, each from his position, and put captains in their places; 25 and you shall muster an army like the army that you have lost, horse for horse and chariot for chariot. Then we will fight against them in the plain; surely we will be stronger than they.”

And he listened to their voice and did so.

ordinary people-Gods extraordinary plan26 So it was, in the spring of the year, that Ben-Hadad mustered the Syrians and went up to Aphek to fight against Israel. 27 And the children of Israel were mustered and given provisions, and they went against them. Now the children of Israel encamped before them like two little flocks of goats, while the Syrians filled the countryside.

28 Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The Lord is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’”

Like Goliath disdained the armies of Israel in 1 Samuel 17, the Syrians, led by Ben-Hadad belittled the strength and awesomeness of the God of Israel. The Syrians limited the Most High God as the god of the hills, they assumed our God to be weak in the plains eh?

Friends, what is that situation, circumstances, and facts of life that has limited you, or better still is trying to limit you to the hills, plains, that thing that want to cage you, that issue that wants to put a cap on your dreams and aspiration? Whatever it is friends, erase it. Every evil report, words we have heard from wherever that wants to limit what God wants to do in our lives has to be erased. May the Holy Spirit sift through all the lies of the enemies and uproot every words of destruction from our memories in Jesus name.

You see friends, the Lord is saying to you today like He said in 1 Kings 20:28, because the enemy of progress in your life, the skeptic have said you are not qualify, you are not worthy to be lifted up, you don’t deserve breakthroughs, you are not qualify to be married, promoted, celebrate, have children, be healed, and so on, I will confound them.

They have looked down on my saving grace upon your life. They have counted my blood shed on Calvary’s tree inferior. They have disdained your youth and my gifting upon your life. I the Most High God, the I Am that I Am, I will do the extraordinary through you.

You will catch fishes from the oceans with bare hands, lots and lots. Shrimps with your fingers that you will not have enough room for.Your voice will be heard in the uttermost part of the earth. As many as gathered together against you, shall fall before thee, like I was with David, I will be with you! You will not fail, nor falter, you will not fall, my light in you will not dim, neither will you waver from the path of righteousness. I the Lord has spoken!

Jesus in Samaria!

Psalm-42-2-My-Soul-Thirsts-for-God-gray-copyJohn 4:4 But He needed to go through Samaria. This is Jesus Christ needing to go through Samaria! Why does our Lord Jesus Christ have to go through Samaria? Why not take another route? Jews were not meant to relate, mingle, interact with Samaritans, and Jesus knows this quite well, why go through the city of the accursed?

Jesus had to go through an accursed, sinful woman in order to reach/save a people, a whole city for His kingdom. Isn’t it possible that Jesus could have met anyone else somewhere in Judea that could bring the message back to Samaria? Jesus as Lord new the heart of all human regardless of our outward piousness and sinfulness.

Jesus knew the heart of this Samaritan woman. He knew she was thirsty and hungry for life, for what she had was not satisfying. She knew there was something more and was believing, hopeful and expectant and was searching. How do I know that? John 4:25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ) “When He comes, He will tell us all things,”

The scripture also said she was lecturing Jesus Christ about the Well of Jacob. She had knowledge of her Abrahamic Heritage in John 4: 12 “Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”  and verse 20 “Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

Friends, what does Samaria represent in your life? What situation, circumstance or experience are you having right now? That happening that you thought shouldn’t be or have been! That glitch, hiccup and happenstance, ask the Lord for understanding and you will see that, it had to happen for God to be glorified in your life. Jesus went through Samaria to save a people for His kingdom, you are going through Samaria in order to benefit the kingdom of God. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Look inward friends, and you will realize that you have moved a step higher from who you used to be. Like the Samaritan woman, you are more confident of your heritage in Christ Jesus. You know who you are better now than before and your life is having impact in your spheres of influence. Like the Samaritan woman’s transformation, those in the city, lost and thirsty, but with the attitude of we’ve got everything together are having an “awe” moment. The light bulb is coming on in their hearts.

She showed the whole city the way to the Lord – The Way, The Truth and Life. John 4:28-30 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” 30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him. and 39- 42  And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of His own word.42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the the Savior of the world.”

What about you friends? Do not hide your light, don’t put it under the table, no matter how little, put it on a stool, lampstand, anywhere! Let it show someone the way to the Lord! Give hope to the hopeless, be a friend to the friendless. It takes the heart of Jesus to be a giver! Give love, encouragement, and comfort to another. Build up, strengthen and reach out to steady the stumbling. Jesus will never leave nor forsake you. Reach out to the deep for a catch. You will be surprised, for the harvest is plenty and the labourers are few. John 4: 34-38. Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” Do your part in God’s kingdom – preach and live The Word in season and out of season

Are you drinking and still thirsty and hungry? In the dark without Christ in your heart? I want you to know that Jesus loves you. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. However John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Jesus wants you to come to him, acknowledging your need for him in your life, confess your sins and ask him to quench your thirst – fill you with Himself, His Holy Spirit. Reach out today! Jesus is waiting!

You Are Willing and Obedient?

obeyNo one is righteous, no, not one. I am saved by grace, faith in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He died so that I might live. Nothing qualifies me to be His except his blood shed at Calvary. I could never attain holiness by myself except by the righteousness of Jesus and the enablement of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you Lord for loving me. Thank you for taking this vessel, washing it clean of all filthiness and filling it with your Holy Spirit and glorifying your name thereby. Our God can and will use any vessel to accomplish his good purposes. He used murderer like, Moses and Saul turned Paul, murderer and adulterer like David, Hagar, Tamar and so many others.

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. 19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land….  Our loving Everlasting Father has made provision for us all for forgiveness, cleansing and sanctification through the blood of Jesus Christ.

The requirement to been filled and used is ” if you are willing and obedient” God will fill any vessel that has set himself/herself aside for his purpose and He will fill you up to overflowing with his Holy Spirit.

Will you yield yourself today friends to be filled up to live a victorious life and do exploit. We can yet have victory in all facet of life, it is attainable with the Lord. Yield your heart today and watch the Lord transform it.

Stay in Christ presence, stay focused and be sensitive to the move of the Holy Spirit.
