What Has The Lord Said? To You!

It has been said to me, that I am a city set upon a hill that cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14
It has been said to me, that I will not die but live to declare the works of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalms 118:17
It has been said to me, to remain confident of this, that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalms 27:13

Radiant Glory Of Love

Romans 4: 18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Just as it had been said to him, just as it had been said to them, just as it had been said to you, just as it had been said to me! What has just been said to you Joan? What has the Lord Said?

Test Every Spirit!

dont-believe-every-spiritWhen seeking the face of God, we must be expectant, discerning, and cautious.  We must weigh what we receive with the Word of God.

As we seek for God’s face for power, the power of the Holy Spirit to work in us, we must be aware of the devices of Satan, for he will come with counterfeit. He tried it with our Lord Jesus Christ – Matthew 4:8-11.

Satan asked Christ Jesus to bow before him. Satan being the ruler of the darkness of this world hold sway over the world. Had Christ, God forbid bowed, He would have still worked works, but not by the Spirit of God.

We must be discerning this season, watch and pray that we are not deceived!

Our Father in heaven, we come before you by the blood of Jesus, we praise and adore you, thank you for saving us. Father we ask that the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead will manifest in us to destroy every works of Satan within and without in Jesus mighty name. We ask that we will not be deceived, that we will not fall into error in the name of your dear son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

A Time Like This!

A-time-like-this-Pastor-Joel-WellsA few years ago I received Isaiah 28:24-29, and prior to that I had received countless that I could not make sense of. I knew it was particular to me, my situation and issues of life, but I did not understand the depth thereof. I sought for understanding and laid it aside when none was forthcoming. And now I am been prompted to take a look at this closely!

Isaiah 28:24-29

Listen and hear my voice;
    pay attention and hear what I say.
24 When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually?
    Does he keep on breaking up and working the soil?
25 When he has leveled the surface,
    does he not sow caraway and scatter cumin?
Does he not plant wheat in its place,
    barley in its plot,
    and spelt in its field?
26 His God instructs him
    and teaches him the right way.

27 Caraway is not threshed with a sledge,
    nor is the wheel of a cart rolled over cumin;
caraway is beaten out with a rod,
    and cumin with a stick.
28 Grain must be ground to make bread;
    so one does not go on threshing it forever.
The wheels of a threshing cart may be rolled over it,
    but one does not use horses to grind grain.
29 All this also comes from the Lord Almighty,
    whose plan is wonderful,
    whose wisdom is magnificent.

The Church, your family, your world needs you at a time like this!!

When the Lord woke me up this morning with a thought so strong in my heart, I was glad, yet disturbed. What will come of this I thought? What and how am I going to accomplish this? Then I read my devotion in the Open Heavens by Pastor E. A. Adeboye and I was like Lord, why are you doing this to me? The Lord is saying, and I believe to all, He is at work in us to will and to act in order for His good works to be fulfilled in us – Philippians 2:13.

He has bestowed on us His Holy Spirit to work diverse works. 1 Corinthians 12:There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

The Lord is saying to you and I that He has been working within us, preparing, and equipping us for tasks He want us to do – Ephesians 2:10. Enough of our doing the same thing over and over, wasting time in disobedience. Now is the time to step out, step forward, to do what needs to be done.

Isaiah 1:19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; 20 but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Enough of resisting the Lord friends, you cannot win or change His mind. Open your mouth He said and He will fill it up. Open your mouth and the words are right there! Psalms 81:10 I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

It is not that we don’t know where that need is in our life, family, organization, Church, our community, and the world. We do know, but refuse to take action waiting we say for the appropriate time and place when we should be working out our faith. We also have been prepared; for life’s situations have been preparing us for such a time like this. In Verse 24 When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and working the soil? This is the time to sow! Now is the time to speak, let your voice ring out loud and clear. The appointed time to reveal the heart of the matter!

True Friends Are Rare! None Like Mine!

True friends are rare! I mean the kind of friend that let you know when you act like a jerk. A friend that knows you more than yourself. How possible is one to know another more than themselves you may ask. Friends, praise you, support you, defend, encourage, comfort, and just love you and want you to be happy.

However, there is a limit to what even the closest, kind, faithful, and loyal friends can be to you at every stage of life. The best of us are prone to error, that is just who we are, our perfection is in Him alone.

TruthI want to talk about a special friend and confidant that I have. He is the truest of them all, constant, steady, faithful, loyal, dependable, reliable, true and loving.

My special friend does not mince words with me. He tells me things as it is. He has never betrayed me except to myself, taking my lies and revealing the truth of it to me -convicting me thereby. Never demanding except to request I be the best I can be, to do unto others as I would like it to be done to me.

My friend act as a sounding board to me sometimes, like when I say something not too nice and I hear it played back. You know what friends? We all have some friends that will nod at every word, agree with any idea just to be in our life. Not this my very special friend and I am grateful for having Him in my life.

My special friend is the Holy Spirit. He let me know that it is Him that has kept my secret secret, so that I do not go around telling tales and reveal others secrets. My friend let me know when my criticism deviate from constructive to destructive due to my own jealous and envious heart. When the discussion moves from the subject – topic of discussion to the object – the person.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit shall guide you into all truth. John 16:12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Do you have this friend in your life? A true friend that will let you know you have deviated from the path of truth, living in error, and show you a way back into the light of God’s countenance. True friend that will direct your path and safeguard you in treacherous terrain. A true friend that stir you to do the right thing amidst contrary opinion, a true friend guarded by truth, love, compassion, justice, and a sound mind.

be led by the spirit

It was this friend that instructed Abigail to make haste to appease David – 1 Samuel 25, directed Tamar to take Judah’s seal, its cord, and his staff – Genesis 38. It was this friend that helped Ruth though in pain, sorrow of heart, to see Naomi’s loss and pain and,  decide to accompany her on a journey to a strange land – Ruth 1. It was this friend, unseen, but His presence was felt powerfully, he guarded Rehab’s heart aright to help the spies – Joshua 2.

Do you have this friend in your life? You must be born again to have this special friend. You must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, forsake all your evil ways, confess Jesus as Lord and cultivate the presence of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. No better friend than Him!!!!!!

The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit -1  Corinthians 2:14.

Neglecting Need! In Totality!

Nehemiah 10:37 “Moreover, we will bring to the storerooms of the house of our God, to the priests, the first of our ground meal, of our grain offerings, of the fruit of all our trees and of our new wine and olive oil. And we will bring a tithe of our crops to the Levites, for it is the Levites who collect the tithes in all the towns where we work. 38 A priest descended from Aaron is to accompany the Levites when they receive the tithes, and the Levites are to bring a tenth of the tithes up to the house of our God, to the storerooms of the treasury. 39 The people of Israel, including the Levites, are to bring their contributions of grain, new wine and olive oil to the storerooms, where the articles for the sanctuary and for the ministering priests, the gatekeepers and the musicians are also kept. “We will not neglect the house of our God.”

“WE WILL NOT NEGLECT THE HOUSE OF OUR GOD”  There is no shortage of sermons about tithing, first fruits, and offerings, so I will not belabor you with it friends.  The message, or rather the question that has been gnawing at me considering what I have seen, heard, and read lately is “Are there still Prophet like Elijah? Are there?

neglecting the house of God

Are there still men and women after God’s heart like David, Deborah and Esther who said in Esther 4:16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

b4390a5a-5388-4622-bc32-7f44c3e65a13Do we still have men like Elijah who called down fire upon the Prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18:16-45.

“We will not neglect the house of our God”  The house of God is neglected when evil is perpetrated in our midst and we turn our eyes away. We neglect the house of God when, truth, justice, compassion, love, and kindness has taken the backseat in our services, offerings, and daily living – Christlike living.

We rob God when we shortchange what is due, the right thing, for what is convenient for us to the detriment of another and God’s Kingdom. God is looking for men and women, you and I to strip off our camouflage, stop deceiving each other and start living right, SEEKING FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS wholeheartedly, and not our own kingdom on earth.

1 Corinthians 3:10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.

Hmmm! Friends your work and mine, can it, will it pass the test? Lord have mercy on us we plead!

14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. 16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? 17 If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

That brother you are cheating, the organization and business partner you are defrauding, and the employee you refuse to pay their wages, yes! These are all God’s temple and should not be neglected.

18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” 21 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours,22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours, 23 and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

Lord raise up Elijahs in this generation, men and women after your heart, to build up your Kingdom, your body, and temple, rid your sanctuary of pest and parasite – the prophets of “Baal” operating in disguise in the temple . Please count us worthy to be one of such Lord. Clothe us in your power and grace in, and enable us Lord to care for your house in Spirit and in truth with love.

Shalom! Shalom! Shalom!

Love In The Wilderness! Awakened!

Song of Solomon 3:1 All night long on my bed
    I looked for the one my heart loves;
    I looked for him but did not find him.
I will get up now and go about the city,
    through its streets and squares;
I will search for the one my heart loves.
    So I looked for him but did not find him.
The watchmen found me
    as they made their rounds in the city.
    “Have you seen the one my heart loves?”
Scarcely had I passed them
    when I found the one my heart loves.
I held him and would not let him go
    till I had brought him to my mother’s house,
    to the room of the one who conceived me.
Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you
    by the gazelles and by the does of the field:
Do not arouse or awaken love
    until it so desires.
