Who Does The Word Say You Are?

Who do men say I am? Matthew 16:13-20 Jesus Christ asked this question of his disciples. The reason why Jesus asked this question I don’t know really!

What I do know is that if you and I do not know who we are, what we are about, our values, beliefs, and all, people, events, situations, circumstances, and all in the world will tell us what we are not!

You do not want that! Do you? I guess as much. Why don’t you start studying the scriptures? Who, what, your how, and when is all written in the Bible.

Make the Bible a priority! Read and meditate in it!

Be set free!

Stay on Psalm 139:14 a little bit. Can you wrap your mind around the fact that “You are fearfully and wonderfully made”? That marvellous are God’s work? Does your soul know this?

Know yourself friends and your enemies will never be able to label you as what you are not!

Shalom!

Voices, Vices! Truth!

There are many voices speaking daily to us. We speak to ourselves, and many more speak to us, our spouses, sponsors, children, friends, religious leaders, secular leaders, and so on.

Wisdom demand that we sift through what we hear, and take hold of that which nourishes our soul.

Every and any word spoken that gives you unholy sorrow or is contrary to what God says about you, you must reject right away. Do not give room for such words, regardless of the guise in which it was spoken a resting place to alight in your mind.

What has God spoken concerning you, your life’s situation, and circumstances? What are you hearing left right and center? Just because the prophecy is spoken by all and sundry does not make it The Truth.

You need to remember Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 18 – all 400 prophet prophesied the same thing and they were all wrong. Measure words with The Word of God.

At a point Jesus had to rebuke Satan speaking through Peter. Matthew 16:22b This shall never happen to you! How many good things, godly things have the naysayers say will never happen to you? Rebuke it!!

Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” Matthew 16:23

By now you should know there are some Peters around you that need to be rebuked, from the pulpit to the bedroom, the statehouse to the classroom, and even in your own head!

Rebuke every voice that is not speaking the concerns of God in your ears. You have the power and authority to rebuke! Use it!!!!

Death and life is in the power of the tongue – Proverbs 18:21

Shalom!
