A few years ago I received Isaiah 28:24-29, and prior to that I had received countless that I could not make sense of. I knew it was particular to me, my situation and issues of life, but I did not understand the depth thereof. I sought for understanding and laid it aside when none was forthcoming. And now I am been prompted to take a look at this closely!
Isaiah 28:24-29
Listen and hear my voice;
pay attention and hear what I say.
24 When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually?
Does he keep on breaking up and working the soil?
25 When he has leveled the surface,
does he not sow caraway and scatter cumin?
Does he not plant wheat in its place,
barley in its plot,
and spelt in its field?
26 His God instructs him
and teaches him the right way.
27 Caraway is not threshed with a sledge,
nor is the wheel of a cart rolled over cumin;
caraway is beaten out with a rod,
and cumin with a stick.
28 Grain must be ground to make bread;
so one does not go on threshing it forever.
The wheels of a threshing cart may be rolled over it,
but one does not use horses to grind grain.
29 All this also comes from the Lord Almighty,
whose plan is wonderful,
whose wisdom is magnificent.

When the Lord woke me up this morning with a thought so strong in my heart, I was glad, yet disturbed. What will come of this I thought? What and how am I going to accomplish this? Then I read my devotion in the Open Heavens by Pastor E. A. Adeboye and I was like Lord, why are you doing this to me? The Lord is saying, and I believe to all, He is at work in us to will and to act in order for His good works to be fulfilled in us – Philippians 2:13.
He has bestowed on us His Holy Spirit to work diverse works. 1 Corinthians 12:4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
The Lord is saying to you and I that He has been working within us, preparing, and equipping us for tasks He want us to do – Ephesians 2:10. Enough of our doing the same thing over and over, wasting time in disobedience. Now is the time to step out, step forward, to do what needs to be done.
Isaiah 1:19 If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; 20 but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Enough of resisting the Lord friends, you cannot win or change His mind. Open your mouth He said and He will fill it up. Open your mouth and the words are right there! Psalms 81:10 I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
It is not that we don’t know where that need is in our life, family, organization, Church, our community, and the world. We do know, but refuse to take action waiting we say for the appropriate time and place when we should be working out our faith. We also have been prepared; for life’s situations have been preparing us for such a time like this. In Verse 24 When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and working the soil? This is the time to sow! Now is the time to speak, let your voice ring out loud and clear. The appointed time to reveal the heart of the matter!
Shalom! Shalom! Shalom!
