1 Samuel 17:37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Life is in seasons friends! Whatever season you are presently in, remember the Lord your God and worship Him. He who was there in the season of scarcity, is in the midst of your plenty. He was in the midst of war, shielding and protecting and is still there in the midst of peace, stroking the back of your neck. This God is the Most High God, that rules in the affairs of men. He is ever faithful, only constant, always on time.
You see, while David was taking care of the Fathers herds, lions and bears came to steal, kill and destroy, but the Lord delivered him. There was no trophy, there was no applause but he knew for sure that if it had not been for the Lord, he would have been forgotten. Facing Goliath was not so scary after all. This was standing for the Most High God who had delivered him in the wilderness. How can he standby and this awesome God is defied by an uncircumcised Philistines? That was too much for David to take in, He did not volunteer because of the reward but to silence and end the reproach and ridicule thrown upon the armies of the Most High God.
What is that situation in your life causing you shame, reproach and is ridiculing you – your maker? What situation is defying the grace of God upon your life? Friends and family have called your faith in Jesus Christ into question, slandered your faith in God – why hasn’t he shown up for you? Foes have requested evidence of your faith. Where is your God?- echoes all around you.
Too many questions you cannot answer, and many unanswered questions of your own. But, but, you know deep down within you that God loves you and is working out something wonderful for you. You know all things will work out for your good. You know without a shadow of doubt- God is working it out for you, he’s working it out for you.
Be assured that God is indeed working it out for you. Stop listening to the skeptic, turn a deaf ear to jeers, keep calm, God is working it out for you. He that made sure you did not fall into that ditch, the trap set by Satan himself will not let you be overwhelmed by that situation. God kept you alive, think of the near misses and you will realize there is a higher and greater purpose for your life. God is working it out for you.
This situation will pass, the storm will not sweep you off, Christ Jesus is in the midst of the storm, holding you, He is your anchor, hold on friends. Christ had done this before, remember that situation few years back, or was it months, probably weeks, yes that situation He maneuver you out of? He is the same yesterday, today and forever! He will show up for you and glad you will be!
Put your trust in the Lord friends for He cares for you. Shalom
I am highly favored of God. Feel so loved, honored and privileged to be so loved and chosen to be an instrument, vessel of honor in the hands of the creator of the heavens and the earth – an embodiment of pure love and grace radiating through a mere mortal ( redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ).
Lord, I have gone through situations and circumstances that I felt was the end of me, yet you brought me out stronger. You’ve always shown me your love and I knew it not. I had no clue that you knew me, and could not imagine you, the Most High God, having good plans for my life.
I had no idea that you destined me for greatness Lord, probably I would have walked circumspectly. You’ve always been there for me Lord Jesus! Though it took a long time to see you and acknowledge you. You were always there watching over me. Those dark days when the sun seem not to shine, the cloudy days with fogs that made seeing impossible, the slippery road I had to go through to get to where I wanted to go.
You showed up Lord, got me there somehow, even though you had a different plan and route for me. You gently guided me back to your original plan and purpose for which you created me. You soothe my pain, heartaches, hugged me to calm my aching body.
Oh Lord my God, how awesome you are! How marvelous is your loving kindness? I am amazed by the depth of your love for me Lord! It is beyond my understanding and I will not try to figure it out, I will just bask in your love Lord. I will enjoy your presence, grace and all that you have provided abundantly for me to be all that you created me to be. Thank you Lord Jesus! I am so grateful, joyful and thankful.
You see my heart Lord, these are words from my soul. Thank you so very much. Love you tonnes Lord Jesus.
1 Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament. 2 Hear my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. 3 In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. 4 For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome. 5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong; 6 you destroy those who tell lies. The bloodthirsty and deceitful you, Lord, detest. 7 But I, by your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple. 8 Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness because of my enemies— make your way straight before me. 9 Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies. 10 Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you. 11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. 12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. …
The light that shone out of darkness is the word of God in John 1: 1-5. It is the word that was with God, by which every thing was created. The word that was life and the life was the light of mankind. John 1:5 says ” the light shines in darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.
Friends, the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Jesus Christ that you and I are beholding, cannot be overcome by the darkness of this world. Trials, tribulations and the cares of this world cannot overcome this light -the light of the knowledge of the glory of God.
Hallelujah, every issues of life you are currently facing will and is dissipation as the light shine on and in your hearts. Pray earnestly that the light will continuously shine in your heart. Stay focused on Jesus, don’t loose sight of the promises of God as contained in the scriptures. There might not be any tangible change yet, however be rest assured that God is working on your behalf, change is coming, positive change, unimaginable transformation is coming your way. You have to let faith arise in your heart. Our God is able to do far above what we could ever think or ask. Faith works, align your thought with promises in the bible, meditate upon it, envision your desire according to the word. God is able that promised.
2 Thessalonian 1: 11-12 (personified prayer) Father count us worthy of your calling, and bring to fruition every of our desires for goodness and every deed prompted by faith in Christ Jesus name we pray. Amen
2 Thessalonian 1:11-12 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. 12 We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ
‘You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman”. When the Lord ask us to partner with him, this most often is our response. We remind the Lord of the facts of our lives like he doesn’t know before calling us. We need to see beyond the facts of our life’s to the limitless potential embedded in yielding to the masters request.
Jesus answered her, he is answering us now also. If we knew the gift of God that has been bestowed on us and the limitless possibility of a life yielded totally to the masters bidding, we will not be reluctant or find excuses to living for and serving the Lord.
We often walk by sight and see only impossibilities. How can the Lord do that which he has promised through me. Alas, I cannot speak well, how about my weakness, short comings and mistakes! Friends, there is countless factors that will disqualify us in the natural without Christ in the picture. How can I be who Christ says I am? My circumstances and situation speaks otherwise. Do I really have it in me to be who Christ says I am? Can Christ really change my story? We often ask and questions ourselves.
Only if we know who’s boat we’ve entered into through salvation. He created the whole universe and times and seasons are in his hands. What he says comes to pass. He renews, restores and rebuilds among others. Yes, Christ will rebuild the old ruins. He will restore health, fortune, ailing love and passion in marriage and so on.
Really? I often wonder. Is it possible for Christ Jesus to restore me? All that I have lost, stolen from me? All the shamble of what remains of a once beautiful hope, I wondered. Oh! If that was possible, why did it not? Wished I had known, I would not have wasted so much time dilly dallying. Well, I am tired of the enormous burden. Jesus would you please take this burden and keep it off the Samaritan woman asked in verse 15.
Christ response was, “Go call your husband and come back”. Oh my! Christ has just touched a sour thumb, ouch! It hurts! The pain, reproach of failed marriages. The seeking of fulfilment outside of the will of God. The laborious agony of filling a void that can only be filled by the love of Christ. Your husband sisters and mine couldn’t have given us joy without us finding ourselves first in Christ. Lack of joy and fulfilment plagued the Samaritan woman as it does lots of women even today. How she sought joy and fulfilment in the wrong place, until she was in her fifth marriage, even then, joy eludes her. She responded to Jesus that she has no husband. Why? you might ask. Her heart is still void, Joy has eluded her yet again, she’s at a loss, just cohabiting, just surviving, masking it.
Jesus in verse 18 tells her the facts that she has long buried. Alas, its been too painful for her, just like most of us. We bury in the recess of our minds, the pain, shame and reproach of failures without dealing with it. Christ got her attention here. We catch a glimpse of God looking at our past failures, mistakes and so on and yet not judging or condemning us. Instead, he looks at us with love and compassion. We acknowledge and profess our love for God, yet still judge our selves by the things done in the past, or not, by traditions, what people are saying or not saying.
God revealed his love to us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us , every single person. Romans 5:8. We ought to just embrace that which has been wrought for us, accept love and forgiveness and hope for tomorrow. However, we are skeptical. these other men had promised her heaven and earth and did not deliver. Oh yes, we unconsciously expect another that will take away the pain, shame and aches of the past. A single sister would say, when I get married I will be happy and serve God. A married sister would be, oh well, when my husband changes, or I have children or when my kids grow up everything will be okay and I will serve God then. A sister in transition will say, well, when I remarry or get reconciled with my husband, serving God truthfully would be easier or possible. Seldom does it cross our mind that Christ wants us just as we are to live for him. Come just as you are to worship, let Christ embrace you, imperfection and all.
Friends, the beauty of the story of the Samaritan lady is that she became an evangelist right where she met Jesus. She happens to be the only woman recorded in the scriptures that Jesus Christ had a private, lengthy one on one with. It all started with Christ need, request and her willingness to oblige him even without knowing who he was. You’ll also note that she went into town to evangelise without convincing assurance of who Christ was, verse 28 -30. This woman was willing to be vulnerable to scrutiny. She was fearless of criticism, loving and generous enough to want to share the peace that has flooded her heart with others. You see, having spent sometime with Christ, his glory has robbed on her, her countenance had changed because when she went to town, she was glowing, the people were wondering, what could be responsible for this joy exuding from this “forsaken” woman. Remember, she had a reputation, not a very nice one and probably not many pay attention to her, nothing good is expected from her. Yet, just an encounter with Christ changed all that. She spoke and the whole town listened and followed her back as she led them to the presence of Jesus Christ. Oh, she harvested souls that day that would have taken a lifetime. Just Imagine how huge her account in heaven is.
A whole city followed Christ. The rejected, good for nothing Samaritans heard the gospel and believed while the Jews – Pharisees and Sadducees were plotting to snuff life out of this eternal life giving phenomenal – message of the gospel.
Sisters and friends, will you enlist to work for the Lord by living a fulfilled life in Christ Jesus. Find yourself in the gospel of love and compassion, repent of all known sins, forgive others and forgive yourself, embrace this beautiful life of Christ redeemed and set your eyes on endless possibilities. Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you. Restoration is available. Trust God, he will deliver. Jesus is Lord.
So the five men left and came to Laish, where they saw that the people were living in safety, like the Sidonians, at peace and secure. And since their land lacked nothing, they were prosperous. Also, they lived a long way from the Sidonian and had no relationship with anyone else.
8 When they returned to Zorah and Eshtaol, their fellow Danites asked them, “How did you find things?”
9 They answered, “Come on, let’s attack them! We have seen the land, and it is very good. Aren’t you going to do something? Don’t hesitate to go there and take it over. 10 When you get there, you will find an unsuspecting people and a spacious land that God has put into your hands, a land that lacks nothing whatever”………………..
26 So the Danites went their way, and Micah, seeing that they were too strong for him, turned around and went back home.
27 Then they took what Micah had made, and his priest, and went on to Laish, against a people at peace and secure. They attacked them with the sword and burned down their city. 28 There was no one to rescue them because they lived a long way from Sidonite and had no relationship with anyone else. The city was in a valley near Beth Rehob.
The Danites rebuilt the city and settled there. 29 They named it Dan after their ancestor Dan, who was born to Israel—though the city used to be called Laish. 30 There the Danites set up for themselves the idol, and Jonathan son of Gershom, the son of Moses, and his sons were priests for the tribe of Dan until the time of the captivity of the land. 31 They continued to use the idol Micah had made, all the time the house of God was in Shiloh.
The Church, the body of Christ have been living in safety, at peace and secure. We have been dull of hearing, insensitive to the times we are in like the people of Laish. We are not playing defense, nor attack. The Church is complacent, safely playing Church, when we should be in the attack mode, to uproot and to destroy every works of wickedness around us.
The Holy Spirit is not having its expression in our midst as He should because of the state of our hearts, the temperature of our gathering. Unlike times gone by, this generation have been laid back, living in so called peace and prosperity without so much a mention of miracles recorded in the Scriptures. There is evil all around us pointing to woes unleashed by the wicked one. Christians are been persecuted at home and abroad, there is chaos all over the world, no continent and countries without its share of tumult. The world and all its woes is gradually creeping in to pollute the Church.
So many are in a cocoon of ignorance and are not even aware of the spiritual famine all around. The state of our spirituality is at best lukewarm and we know it not. May the Holy Spirit not leave us, may we not grieve Him to the point of leaving us. Iron sharpens iron, however some have kept away from all, ignorant of the treasure embedded in maintaining contact with one another and the Holy Spirit. Others have embraced all and are lost to the world. There is fear of rejection, of been taken advantage of or sheer deception but none can compare to the immerse positive outcome of right communion at the feet of the Most High God.
Now is the time for the Church as a body and individuals to set aside every encumbrance and arise and shine, to let the light of God shine through us to the dark places in the world, bringing salvation to sinners, hope to the hopeless, joy to the heartbroken, and prepare the way for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to whom be glory, honor and adoration world without end. Amen
John 1:1 In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
The Word created everything that has been created and will be created. Everything that is came out and is coming out of that which was created in the beginning.Everything created, every element, stars, the moon, sun, plant, animals everything must of necessity cooperate with your God given destiny. It is written that all things work well for the good of those whose trust is in the Lord (Romans 8:28). You are not your own, to God you belong, therefore, all creation, experiences, occurrence are and will work together for your good.
Everything that was and will ever be, came into been by the Word, which was with God, was made flesh, dwells among us, died for your sins, redeeming you from the curse of the Law (John 1:1-5). This means then, that in the coven of witches, wizard, occult, and wickedness, whatever is been conjured, put together or spoken against you, having been originally created by God through Jesus Christ, will not work against you. As a believer, Holy Spirit filled and abiding in the word, Christ dwells in you by the Holy Spirit, therefore, the weapon of wickedness will not prosper in your life and destiny.
All creation, all element must cooperate with your destiny, which is in Christ Jesus. For you were crucified with Christ Jesus, nevertheless, you live, yet not you that lives, but Christ that lives in you. The life that you live now, you live by faith in the son of God, who loved you and gave himself for you (Galatians 2:20).
Nothing put together, spoken or pronounced against you and yours by the wicked one will prosper in Jesus mighty name. You have to rise up and condemn every tongue that rises up in judgement over you and yours, this is your heritage in Christ Jesus (Isaiah 54:17) You have been blessed by the Most High God, Almighty, all knowing, only wise God. You cannot be cursed. Every evil pronouncement against the plan and purpose of God for your life shall not stand.
2 Corinthians 1: 20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
God had spoken to his mother before his conception. God also revealed Himself to both parent, instructing them how to care for this anointed child. Samson was anointed from the womb, yet he grew up doing everything contrary to the commandments of God. Sexual immorality was his undoing. It cost Samson his eyes and life ultimately. He lost touch with the Holy Spirit of the living God that had been abiding in him even before he was born.
Samson did achieve the purpose for which he was born, which was to destroy the very fabric of the Philistines power and dominion over Israel – God’s own possession. He destroyed the Lord’s enemy – Israel’s cruel oppressor.
Oh Samson! Samson! He would have still destroyed Philistines power and rule over Israel and lived, had he not an insatiable desires for strange women.
You see, friends, there will always be something, issues, desires contending for our life and destiny. God has great, wonderful, and beautiful plan for His children. The wicked one also has plans to kill, steal and destroy. Therefore, there is conflict from within and without. Even after salvation, believers still struggle to stand in the Word in righteousness because of the demand of the flesh over the mind.
In the case of Samson, it was women – beautiful women. In our case, there are many – handsome men, power, money, anger, pride, greed, envy, gluttony, hatred, gossip, snitching, backbiting, loose tongue, controlling others free will by all means and so on. These can, and is capable of pushing us out of God’s plan and purpose for our existence.
Friends, will you join me in sober reflection, to identify the sins that easily befalls, and take it to God in prayer. Put a system in place by the Holy Spirit so that you will not trip – fall or fail in your walk in the Spirit. It is do-able friends, we have a great and loving advocate in Jesus Christ who is daily interceding for us (I John 2:1,John 14: 16 and 26). Ministering Spirits are released when we pray to God from our heart to help and assist us in this walk of destiny (Hebrew 1:14).
The bible says, without holiness no one shall see God (Hebrew 12:14). We have the Holy Spirit to help us, we have provision, we are not stranded, nor left as orphans to navigate the treacherous path of life. Let us therefore, hold unto our confession of faith, praying earnestly that we will not be deceived by the deceitfulness of sin and the transient glitter of this present world.
Repent therefore and be cleansed, renewed, restored, rejuvenated, and elevated to a position from which you and I are able to offer acceptable sacrifice, service, worship, and praise to the Most High God, King Eternal, Only Wise God, All Sufficient and All Encompassing God world without end. Amen
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. Luke 4:20
Which power? The power of the Holy Spirit which is made available only to those who have experienced a genuine repentance and are abiding in The Word.
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you (and I) have been brought to fullness. He (Christ Jesus ) is the head over EVERY power and authority. Colossian 2:9-10.
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10 : 19
Friends exercise that authority over the situation around you today. Be bold and stand with courage today. Every other force is counterfeit, holds no water. Exercise your dominion mandate in faith knowing that God will back you up with signs and wonder.
Stay calm in His presence. You are covered by The Blood of Jesus Christ.
1 Hear me, Lord, my plea is just; listen to my cry. Hear my prayer— it does not rise from deceitful lips. 2 Let my vindication come from you; may your eyes see what is right. 3 Though you probe my heart, though you examine me at night and test me, you will find that I have planned no evil; my mouth has not transgressed. 4 Though people tried to bribe me,I have kept myself from the ways of the violent through what your lips have commanded. 5 My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not stumbled. 6 I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. 7 Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes. 8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings 9 from the wicked who are out to destroy me, from my mortal enemies who surround me.
Through you Oh Lord my heart sings I am free
I am free to love, live, ……………….
I am free to live for you Lord
I know the Son has set me free
I am free to be who you Lord created me to be –
A shinning light of love that shatters every form of darkness
