Intentional Warfare – Winning the Daily Spiritual Battle by Mary Graziano Scro
This book seems to have been written specifically for me. It couldn’t have come out at a better time, even as the enemy tried in it deceitfulness to keep me from reading it, thereby cheat me out of the inherent message from God, with distraction, busy bee syndrome and sheer laziness.
God has and is using this book by Mary Graziano to realign me with His will to love others as He has loved and still love me, to be sensitive, discerning and alert to the wiles of the enemy and also to reveal unto me my many flaws and His provision for victory/cure.
As Mary wrote “The Lord called us to advance His Kingdom here on the earth and to make Him known to those who desperately need Him. We can’t do that if we are uninformed, if in our ignorance we hurt those we are called to love. We also can’t give what we haven’t received and fully accepted—if we aren’t filled with God’s love and secure in our relationship with Him, it’s impossible for us to love others with His love.”
In my walk so far, I realized that it is what you have that you can actually give, although you can refuse to give, however if you do not have, no matter how hard you try you will not be able to give to others. Love is a free gift from God that everyone has, both saved and unsaved soul. As believers we have been commissioned to go out into the nations and tell the unsaved that God loves them – because they are ignorant of God’s divine love for them. We then have to be secured in our love from God to be able to love others unconditionally, without reservation.
Mary’s use of her personal encounter with God by the Holy Spirit guides the reader into reflecting, giving us more understanding of how we perceive occurrences in our daily encounters. We often judge others by their actions and judge ourselves by our intention and react without understanding of the force behind those actions leading to frictions in our relationships. We come back after the steam has abated but often some relationships have been damaged beyond reason, repairable though through overhaul which is only by grace – the force of love.
As a disciple of Christ we realize quickly enough and tries to salvage the relationships, however, as Mary stated “Sadly, in some relationships, no matter what you do, the other person refuses to listen. But this does not negate our responsibility to love and pray for those God places in our path, until He says to stop. There are times to persevere and times to walk away (shake the dust off your feet). Unless we’re aware of the enemy’s tactics, we’ll miss God’s heart and intentions for others. You are only responsible for your own actions, not for anyone else’s actions. Resolve to walk in love, aware that you have an enemy; and it’s not people or God. Be secure in God’s provision to defeat the real enemy through you when you keep His two greatest commandments and do things His way. Then we can, indeed, accomplish God’s goal in our daily battles: to bring His Kingdom to earth and love people into it”.
Trusting God is critical to victorious living. In our daily walk we need to be aware that the Lord is always with us and lean on Him to lead us aright. We are never to run but face our enemy – the devil for our victory is guaranteed. We are urged to be mindful of our own actions, words, and reaction to others and also to gauge our obedience to the will of God.
This is an excellent book, a must read for every believer with the desire to grow in love towards others in other to propagate the gospel of peace, love and grace – Salvation to the lost.
