Fear Not! And Obey!

There are many ways that we stand in our own way. When God gives you instruction and you disobey it because of fear or whatever, you are standing in the way of receiving the blessings due for obeying.

Many time we are more concerned about what others will say, how we may be perceived by people that we do not deliver messages God gave us to deliver. Even though we’ve been told not to look at the faces. Yoruba say “eni ran ni ni se la un beru”. Jeremiah 1:7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. Yet, what do we do? We withhold information that will benefit others, some info that will protect another from harm’s way, yet more that will save lost souls from eternal damnation. We dilute our messages to tickle ears, to be politically correct. This is absolute disobedience, which has ended up standing in the way of our impacting the world!

Ezekiel 2: 6 And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people. 7 You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious. 8 But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious people; open your mouth and eat what I give you.” What more do I to know? What further instruction do I have to receive in order to do the Masters bidding?

Acts 5:29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! Stop standing in your own way! Obey the Lord with speed. Trust Him to back up His Word! I mean you have seen God in action the few times you obey His instructions. Haven’t you? What will it take you to go all the way obeying God’s every instruction? Stop cherry picking, weighing it by what affects you personnally, will generate controversy and so on. Just obey the Lord and you will see the heavens open over you. The Lord is waiting on you and time wait for no one. Summon up courage and do the Lord’s bidding.

Be born again friends. You need a Savior, His name is Jesus Christ, He is waiting for you to call upon Him! Don’t keep Christ waiting!

Favored By God!

Esther 2:8 So it was, when the king’s command and decree were heard, and when many young women were gathered at Shushan the citadel, under the custody of Hegai, that Esther also was taken to the king’s palace, into the care of Hegai the custodian of the women. 9 Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor; so he readily gave beauty preparations to her, besides her allowance. Then seven choice maidservants were provided for her from the king’s palace, and he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women. 10 Esther had not revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it. 11 And every day Mordecai paced in front of the court of the women’s quarters, to learn of Esther’s welfare and what was happening to her.

She was from the lowliest, probably would not have been taken had her Uncle not hurriedly prepared her with the finest dress she possessed, brushed her hair and used the last perfume and some herbs to beautify her. I believe she was a willing party or else Uncle Mordecai would not have been able to walk her down the path for the palace messengers to see her. Esther was obedient!

Throughout the book of Esther, we saw her obedience and demeanor gaining her favor right from the Kings Eunuch to the King himself. At a later date when she desperately needed help for her people, she found favor also in the sight of God, for God made the King to favor Esther even when she had clearly broken the rules. Esther 5:2 So it was, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight, and the king held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter. 3 And the king said to her, “What do you wish, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given to you—up to half the kingdom!”

Favor! Favor! Favor with God and man is critical in everyone’s fulfillment of destiny. This favor was what Queen Vashti lacked and many struggling through life today. Favor does make a lot of difference in anyone’s life. It overlooks every shortcomings- disobedience, facts of life, natural inconveniences and all to bestow on a person what they do not deserve or qualify for. Favor, the game changer is a gift bestowed by God! Favor can be activated with praise and worship, repentance of course, and getting right with God by forsaking every sin that easily besetts, forgiving others so you can receive forgiveness also – Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Bridge Into Destiny!

 

You have a destiny to fulfill!  You have a purpose to achieve! Yes, there are countless waiting for that very first step! Wait a minute!!! Several steps have already been taken. When? Where? How?

sb-quotes-a-bridgeThe writer of the script of your life put things in motion even when you were not aware you had destiny to fulfill!

Friends, Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I sanctified you.  I ordained you a prophet  to the nations”. Can you beat that? No, I guess not! Destiny is been fulfilled even while you were in vitro.  From your birth till this moment everything created has been moving you towards your divine purpose!

You see , you and I had to garner some experiences along the way, some pain, discipline, character, heartache too, here and there to prepare us for this moment! This moment that we just became aware of who we are as Christ redeemed,  important part in the agenda of heaven! Everything that you have heard, seen and experienced is in the reservoir of armory / resources available to draw from to help another even as you move closer to ultimate fulfillment by the help of the Holy Spirit residing in you.

Every encounter with another is an opportunity to add into the armory of knowledge.  At the time we might not know, think or imagine, but God knows.

Some years back, I had just had my son with some complication at birth. I was at a Church service and heard give your son to the woman behind you. I was like what? Give that child to the woman to hold the voice responded! I didn’t know who was sitting behind me, how can I just ask a stranger to hold my child? Countless thoughts bounced through my mind. Then I thought Oh! maybe she has anointing to heal my son in her hands, I quickly turned and held out my son and told her God said I should give my son to you, she streched out her hands and held him for a while and that was it.

I can’t remember ever seeing her again since that day, and I didn’t see any dramatic change in my son either. Then few months down the road she was one of those dedicating children that very Sunday, her testimony was shared. Alas she had been praying for her own child for many years, waiting on the Lord ! It dawned on me then that it was not about my son.  It was about my ears been trained to hear,to discern the voice of God, my heart obeying, her receiving her own promise / confirmation from God that she will yet hold her own son and many more.

Just this past year I reminded her about that faithful day about nine years ago. What am I getting at here? Without your express knowledge God is always at work, working out His good pleasure through you. Philippians 2 : 13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

I pray Oh Lord that today, you in your Sovereignty bridge the gap between where we are now and where you want Us to be. Send us helpers of destiny that has destiny to fulfill themselves for your glory. Give us avenues to expressly manifest your greatness, the greatness you put inside of US all. May we not think too highly of ourselves even as you manifest your power by your Holy Spirit through US. May we never forget that you, Most High God, is the source of our being and may all glory, honor and adoration be yours Lord, eternity unending in Jesus mighty name I pray! Amen
