In reading the account of the two prostitute in the book of 1 Kings 3 with one dead son and one living, we found out about the depravity of the human nature. These two women reflects what transpire in the heart of man that can only be reversed, changed and eradicated by the Holy Spirit alone. Only the Holy Spirit can transform a depraved heart.
The human mind will say, if I can’t have that which does not belong to me, then no one must have it. If I don’t have that gift or I can use it, then it must not be used at all. If I am in sorrow, then every other person must sorrow also. If this is of no benefit to my ego, though it is for the greater good of all, I will not permit it. Once I am not happy, then no one around me must be happy. If I am in darkness, then light must not come to lighten the path of those others.
1 Kings 3: 26 Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, “O my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.”
This other woman, with the dead son had no iota of compassion for the living, she neither sorrow over her own child but in deception took another’s son as hers in the cover of the night. This is why as believers we need to be sensitive. A lot of blessings have been stolen in the thick of the night when men slept, a lot more are been wasted by our ego too. Christians are been cheated out of heavenly endowment – blessings brought from heaven.
When we were yet sinners the bible says Christ died for us restoring and endowing us with grace and love. Now we are Christ redeemed and wickedness should not be permitted in our midst however without understanding to discern justice we permit what does not please God. It is time for us to stand with God for His people.
Enough of playing Church, with divisiveness in honor in our midst. Creation is waiting for the manifestation of the Sons of God while we are busy playing Church. When will we rise up and uphold that which is for the greater good of all, that which pleases the Lord. Justice, love, empathy, kindness, uprooting the seed of wickedness from our midst, compassion, edifying each other, uplifting Jesus as Lord and Saviour?. Only then can we make a long lasting impact in this world. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of unity, spirit of the understanding to discern justice as in 1 Kings 3:11, we should allow Him to help us to bridge the gap in Christendom.
Lord we ask for mercy as your beloved. We have been very selfish and greedy please forgive us. Help us to yield ourselves totally to you in spirit and in truth.Give us Oh Lord an understanding heart. Work in us to will and to do that which is of your great pleasure Oh Lord in Jesus mighty name. Amen
Have a great week ahead friends!
Shalom
