Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger…”Isaiah 10:5

God may use a nation, a person, or even a difficult season as a tool in His hand — but the tool must never become proud. The Assyrian Empire was permitted to discipline Israel, yet when they exalted themselves in cruelty and brutality, the Lord declared their end (Nahum 1:2–3).

In one night, the army of Sennacherib fell (2 Kings 19:35). Power shifted instantly. Pride was humbled decisively.

Be careful how you treat those in their season of pruning.

When God is refining His own, He has not invited cruelty, mockery, or arrogance into the process.

If He is correcting someone, do not crush them.

If He is pruning someone, do not mock them.

“For whom the Lord loves He chastens.” — Hebrews 12:6

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” — James 4:6

Never exalt yourself over someone God is processing.

He disciplines His children — and He defends them too.

Choose mercy.

Choose humility.

Shalom! Shalom!
