Acts 18:24 Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures. 25 He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and he spoke with great fervor and taught about Jesus accurately, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately.
Like Apollos, some of us are learned, with thorough knowledge of the Scriptures , yet with a gap in our knowledge. We have been instructed in the way of the Lord and have great fervor for the things of God. We speak and teach about Jesus Christ accurately, even though we know in part. Although the Holy Spirit is available to teach us what is missing in the fundamental teaching of the gospel. There is need to abide in the vine, to be nurtured, watered and pruned to bear fruit fit for eating.
God bless brethren like Priscilla and Aquila who heard and discerned fervor for the gospel in Apollos and noticed that there is a gap in his knowledge. Priscilla and Aquila were not one of the twelve, nor one with a personal encounter with Christ like Paul, yet they knew the right thing to do was to educate Apollos more adequately with that which they know. They did not feel threatened about Apollo’s fervor like Christ followers of nowadays. They knew this was the will of God that all may know Christ and the power of His resurrection. They knew they and Apollos were rowing towards the same destination against the tide of unbelief in the hearts of men.
Brethren, it is high time we all search our hearts and note where we have been resisting the will of God. Have we in anyway been obstructing the move of the gospel of Christ for selfish reasons? Like Athalia in 2 Kings 11, who having heard about the death of her son, who then went on to kill royal sons, heirs that could sit on the throne of David. She proceeded to wipe out all male.
You see, God had planned before the foundation of the earth was laid that Christ will come from the loins of Judah. Satan worked against this with Judah and his two sons in Genesis 38, thank God for Tamar who took it upon herself to carry out God’s will regardless of traditions, rules and regulations. Satan used Athalia also, planted her in the palace as the King’s mother, the only female that ever ruled as a monarch.
Why are we, professed Christians hindering the move of the Holy Spirit, the Will of God? Have we been taken over by Satan? Why kill fervor in a rising believer? Why the stumbling block on the part of God’s anointed? Why this wickedness in the sanctuary of the Most High God? Or is it not? Joel 2:28 – 32 has to be fulfilled, and is been fulfilled even right now and no power in hell can stop it. “And it shall come to pass, that whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls- verse 32.
Well, I have come as an oracle of the Most High God to announce to principalities and powers, demonic networks operating unhindered, taking over the sanctuary of the Most High God, ruling as gods in the lives of the ignorant, that enough is enough of your activities. By the power in the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, be rendered powerless and all your networks destroyed. For every plant that God has not planted shall be uprooted.
1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Friends, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He – Christ Jesus is righteous.
