John 20:11-18 Mary Magdalene was grief stricken over the death of Jesus and not finding His body in the grave. She was determined to know what happened to his body. As she wept, she bent over ( in expectation of whatever) to look into the tomb. She was persistent and her persistent paid off. Mary not only saw the two Angels sitting where Jesus’s body had been, she saw the Lord Jesus himself risen.
In your grief as you take stock of what could and might have been in your life, grief over marital failure, unfruitfulness, been misunderstood, neglect, loss of a loved one etc. In every grief there is a silver lining. There is a miracle just about to be revealed. The Lord is near thee. He wants you to look for possibilities, life budding out of the deadness around you. Have a positive expectation as this year ends and the new begins. For it is written that the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off. Be encouraged today, the Lord himself is near you. Reach out to him in faith to touch the hem of his garment. Receive grace today. Shalom.
