The Lord knew what effect and damage unequal yoke, alliance with those who do not know, love, and or submit to Christ can and will do to His Children. Apart from the strain of paddling in opposite direction in the same boat, it jeopardizes us as redeemed of the Lord from maintaining fire on the altar. It is a dangerous thing to fall away friends! The pain will subside, the wound will heal by the mercies of God, however as stated in the Open Heavens of November 11, “wounds can heal, but the scars would remain”.

Every instruction in the word is for our good, however in the hardness of our hearts, ignorance, and in many instances due to error, and youthful exuberance – I call this the state where we believe we have “super powers”, believers fall away from God ordained pathway for relationships into outright disobedience.

Deuteronomy 7:Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 Therefore,“Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”18 And,“I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

Nehemiah 13:23 Moreover, in those days I saw men of Judah who had married women from Ashdod, Ammon and Moab. 24 Half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod or the language of one of the other peoples, and did not know how to speak the language of Judah. 25 I rebuked them and called curses down on them. I beat some of the men and pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God’s name and said: “You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves. 26 Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women.   27 Must we hear now that you too are doing all this terrible wickedness and are being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?”28 One of the sons of Joiada son of Eliashib the high priest was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite. And I drove him away from me.

King Solomon, the wisest king who ever lived was led astray, away from God. This reveals to me that our choices is not based on how wise we are. Solomon loved the Lord and was zealous in his worship of his fathers’ God, yet the desires of his flesh, lust of the eyes led him away from the path of righteousness. At the end of his life, he was deluded, vanity upon vanity he wrote!

The mercies of God is available to us today by the blood of Jesus. The Lord will indeed restore us to him if we call upon him with a repentant heart. He will make all grace available to us to bear our crosses and follow him, salvaging what is left of who we are and transforming it into who we are meant to be.

Nehemiah beat some of the men and pulled out their hair after raining curses on them. There is no one to do that, I mean no one has to do that now, for the situation and circumstances are the things pulling our hairs today better than any Nehemiah could ever do! We must learn to obey God’s instruction!

Father Lord, thank you for your mercies. For bringing us out of bondage, giving us another chance time and time again to live in obedience to your will for us.

Father, we ask that you will heal every broken heart that have come to you in repentance. Restore us to you Lord in your mercy.

For those that are in the middle of the hurricane Lord, show them mercy, speak peace to them Lord for many are hurting and cannot see beyond their noses now.

In your mercy Lord, let the light of your countenance shine upon the dark places and show them a way back into your will we pray in Jesus mighty name. Amen

Shalom! Shalom! Shalom!

You quoted 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 as if Paul were discussing marriage in that passage.

    He is NOT.

If Paul were discussing marriage then verse 17 would require divorce which it does not. If it did then that would be a contradiction of those passages which told those who were previously married before they became Christians that if they were in marriages which did not violate God’s divorce laws that they were to remain married.

But Paul is not discussing marriage.

Paul is commanding Christians to keep their spiritual fellowship limited to those people who are in fellowship with Jesus. This command applies not just to the married but to ALL christians.

When one wrests a scripture away from its original meaning, one does so to one’s own destruction:
    2 Peter 3:15-16
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
