Happy New Month Friends
I implore you to to examine your perspective to life friends. Your joy, happiness and fulfillment depend greatly upon it. There is no wrong or right way, it all depend on what kind of life you want to live.
You see friends, a barren woman, after being ridiculed year after years, praying, and waiting for a miracle finally had a son. Congratulations! Wonderful you will say right? Well, that is great! However, this woman made an observation and it reflected in her prayers. This got me thinking!

You see, Hannah was her name. She finally got a child. Fantastic! She went on a frenzy praising God and so on. She noticed that someone was not happy and made mention of that person.
There are many people with truck loads of blessings that are still miserable. You wonder why? I mean, look at the statistics of people sad and with depression all over. It is alarming. And this in advance nations with seemingly everything, comfort, care, safety. and abundance!

Those who were full hire themselves out for food, but those who were hungry are hungry no more. She who was barren has borne seven children, but she who has had many sons pines away. 1 Samuel 2:5
You see Hannah? She saw possibilities in that one son she has. She made a pledge even before conceiving that if God answers her prayers, she would give that child back to him. She knows that whatever is given to the Lord multiplys! Peninnah on the other hand has had many sons and never felt it necessary to give one back to the Lord. The moment Peninnah saw Hannah rejoicing for that one thing she has been blessed with, her own sorrow began.

Perspective is key to your happiness friends. The bible says rejoice with those who are rejoicing – Romans 12:15. You need to know that someone’s joy, gift, blessings, rejoicing etc is meant to evoke same in you, it should remind you of God’s faithfulness to you. It should remind you to thank God, not to start comparison which many times leads to being miserable.
Why should someone’s happiness cause you grief? You have been comparing yourself and marking that list in your mind right? Taking stocks of what you have that the other person does not have? This is the only thing that has been giving you joy? You need to stop! The fact that someone is lacking in an area that you are blessed with has been your only joy? Repent!!
Change your perspective. Stop comparing yourself. You are unique in more ways than you know. And the Lord has blessed you and will bless you more than you could ever think or imagine.

Count your own blessings, name them one by one, and you will see that you are blessed and highly favored. Whatever that is lacking can be provided. Thank the Lord for what is already in your hands.
Do not be like Peninnah that became miserable because of Hannah’s Samuel! Thank God for your many blessings! Stop the comparison.
