Romans 7: 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
In the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy and at the right hand is pleasure for ever more. Psalms 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Why then do I find myself moving away from the very place I want to be. Why do I seem to spend less time with the one I love most? My priority! Why does it seem to shift every now and then away from the center of my being?
Friends, I have so many questions like you do if we are both truthful. I love the Lord because He first loved me. In His presence I find joy, peace, healing, simply put satisfaction -completeness! Why then have I seldom spend time, quality time with the Lord?. Why has studying The Word become more of a chore than the excitement it ought to give?
I so want to spend time, however I find myself spending time for every other but Him. Lord will you please help me?!
Friends, do you sometime feel this way? Your joy and peace is intact yet, there is the feeling that it’s not quite there eh! The Lord is near thee and I, He misses our fellowship too! The Lord is calling us to draw near, laying aside every encumbrances so we can be one with the Father in spirit.
Whatever you decide friends, keep praising God, think about all he has done, pray and read the Word. Use the audible bible online.
You are fortunate to have been prompted. It means God is not letting go of you!!! Absolutely!! Don’t beat yourself up, just start where you left off, He will help you to catch up! Trust Christ for He is kind and full of compassion and He loves you tremendously.
Father Lord, thank you for your faithfulness. We ask that you will strengthen us by your Holy Spirit. Stir up your spirit within us, ignite the fire on the altar of our hearts in Jesus mighty name Amen.
Shalom! shalom! Shalom!
I often fall short on my walk of faith and write on my blog about it. One area is not spending enough time with God and in His Holy Word! You provided a beautiful ending prayer! Thank you!
