Romans 2:12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.
Is the requirements of the law written on your heart and mine? Does our conscience bear us witness? How about our thoughts? Do they accuse us or defend us? Mine goes to overdrive very often, however, communion with the Father of Spirit through His Word brings it into perspective for me.
These are questions we can ask ourselves truthfully. This is one of the reasons to examine ourselves to see if we are still in the faith for it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight but doers of The Word. “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” 2 Corinthians 13:5

We are only able to self reflect if we are matured enough to look at ourselves in the mirror without been afraid. Self reflection will help us identify areas that need to be worked upon. It helps us to consciously humble ourselves before our creator, to ask for help and and grace to overcome all and everything that is not serving the higher purpose of our being and calling.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble – 2 Peter 1:10.
Are you living the Word? Does your conscience bear you witness? For it is said that God’s spirit bears witness that we are His children – Romans 8:16. This same spirit will bear you witness that you are living right before God and man.
Shalom!
