Healed Emotions! Love Regardless!

I was at a prayer meeting and heard a prayer point that got me thinking! Prayer for God to heal my emotions. You see friends, we’ve all gone through some heartbreak at one time or another in this journey and as such this prayer we all pray with all urgency.

We often have different emotions though, love, hate, envy, rage, jealousy, sheer madness- hate for everything good. These are all the works of the enemy except love which is from love Himself – Our Lord Jesus Christ for it is written in 1 John 4:8 “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” yet it is an emotion that sometimes we don’t have a handle on.

How?  You might ask. We sometimes love others to our own detriment. We were commanded to love others as ourselves, however we go above and beyond sometimes and love another more than ourselves.

loveWe often find out that we love those who care less about us. We give our hearts in love and it get trashed and trampled upon. We get hurt, broken, and sometimes depressed and then the unthinkable happens. Times down the road we realize that we love those who have hurt us the most. Why? You might ask! We realize that had they really known the gift that we bore, they would not have handled it the way they handled our trust and loyalty. We find excuses for their shortcomings and overlook offenses. Mind you, we point out mistakes, correct, and try to discern what is amiss. We soon lose trust in them totally, and sometimes temporarily, yet we love them with the love of God still..

Really? Yes! That is when we realize that the love of Christ has really been shared abroad in our hearts. When we can genuinely pray for God to bless someone who has hurt us, we become more like Jesus our Lord. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Stephen was a man that loved to the point of death. You see because of His love for his fellow, he worked hard at ensuring they had an accurate account of their journey so far as a people of God, for some of them had forgotten. They have followed their own sinful way. Some believed so much in their self righteousness and had no room for the truth of God’s word. Some hearts had become so calloused and needs to be soften by the truth of the gospel of joy, peace and salvation by grace alone in the totality of the death of Jesus Christ at Calvary.

Acts 7: 54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, 56 and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

jesus loveThe truth sometimes is like a dagger in the heart of some, like bile in the mouth of most. However, like the Scriptures says, it is the truth that can really set us free. The truth in the Word of God residing in our heart and practiced wholeheartedly without pretense will heal, enabling us to love God, ourselves and our fellow without inhibition or ulterior motives like Christ did!

Christ Jesus love you friend and loves me more I believe! 🙂

  1. 1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
