Chosen For A Purpose! You Also!

In 1 Chronicles 19:1-20, we see the result of misconceptions – thinking the worst of people and thier intentions, lack of good judgement, ill gotten advice, lack of wisdom and an evil heart.

A delegate was sent by King David, with condolences to Hanun, King of the Ammonites who has just ascended the throne after his Father’s death.

Understandably, Hanun was in mourning, the whole city was hurting, and here comes a delegate, with spices, ointment, fruits and all sort from a formidable alliance.

I would have been glad to see them. Welcome them with open arms, threat them nice and respectfully, and send them back to my late Father’s friend with some figs, spices, freshly baked bread, water in their jar, oil and whatever people gift each other those days.

There was no reason, and there is no readon at all, to be mean to anyone extending an arm of fellowship. There is no reason to humiliate and ridicule someone bearing good tidings, a helping hand. Absolutely no justfication to be wicked to any showing kindness to you!!

How could the Ammonite think hiring chariots and fighters for an unjustifiable war will bring them victory? That is the question we all should ask ourselves as Christian whenever we have issues with one another.

Your anger, hatred, envy, unkindness, opposition, oppression, disrespect, insubordination and all kinds of ill feeling we have towards one another, is it really justified?

We have gone to war with those we should be friends with because of the wickedness of our hearts. We have stepped out of bounds of acceptable behaviour for a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation.

You and I often hire Balaam to curse those whom the Lord has blessed! Yes, we did not know the Lord is with His chosen people. They have just left slavery, multitudes not in royal apparel, yet clothed in the radiant glory of the Most High God.

People weary and burdened with issues, seeking a place of rest, hoping in the kindness, grace and unconditional love of the Father have walked into the Sanctuary, and we raised a war cry against them. We don’t want this sort of people in our midst! Thier presence seems threatening! We cook up allegations, magnify thier slightest mistakes – by our faulty perception. Why so! Why so friends?

The Lord will fight for His people, God always rought the chariots of the wicked. He fought for David against the Ammonites, Goliath, and all his enemies. God will fight for His inheritance.

Jehovah will fight for every soul Christ died for on Calvary’s Tree that we present day “Christians” have hired Arameans against. Those we have used the prevailing issues of thier lives to taunt and reproached. The lost and weary that came to the cross genuinely that we crushed, discouraged and shunted thier growth! The ones we drove out, not because they are selling and buying in the Sanctuary, but because thier little light is revealing our own darkness! Oh yes!! The Lord sees!

Friends, let us all examine ourselves if we are still in the faith. Is yoùr heart aligned with the Word – the bread we eat daily. We profess Christ Jesus with our lips, what about our hearts? Hearts!!!!

Oh Lord God of heaven thank you for your love and faithfulness. Thank you for your Word that is able to reveal the hidden things of our hearts.

Oh Lord God Most Holy, Most High, be merciful unto us your Children. Forgive us Jesus and help us to love you through others. Purge our hearts of every evil, expose our errors and help us to correct our wrong. Holy Spirit have your way in our heart, rekindle a right spirit within us. Set our soul on fire for the work of our savior! Help us Father as we pray in Christ Jesus mighty name. Amen

Shalom! Shalom! Shalom!
